Hey guys, it’s WWW Wednesday time! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and now hosted by Sam @Taking on a World of Words. Basically, I have to answer 3 questions with 3W’s : What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? and then link this post to the host.

I told that I’d be reading Vicious this week, but I swapped that with the previous week’s books. I’m hoping to stick to this lot and finish some ARCs along the way. I was supposed to be busy next week, but due to Corona, we had to postpone all our plans until the situation clears up. It’s a mess, but my mind is calm despite the chaos around me, which is a good sign. Since I have some time in my hands, I thought about getting some more reading done because I keep piling ARCs and want to finish them soon.

Queen of Air and Darkness: I didn’t feel much sad after Lord of Shadows but reading this one is breaking my heart. Reading about the Blackthorns after what happened in the last book is tearing me apart. They have been through so much as a family, and their past keeps trailing them as shadows. I wanted to finish The Dark Artifices series this month, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to read it in three days because I have other books to read too. The Clave is divided and becoming more dumber as years go on, and I can see them making stupid choices. This series is different than the other series in the SHC. There might be similarities, but the family bond and the tension are too strong and intense in this book. I just don’t want to see my favorite characters dying and want to see the Blackthorns happy for once.

The Ones We’re Meant to Find: I’m finally sitting down and reading this book today. I started this book, and it’s fast-paced and easy to get into the world. It’s too early for me to say anything about it because I’ve got a long way to go. I’ll be reviewing this book on Monday, so I’ll be speaking about it then.

The Gilded Ones: I’ve finished 50p. of this book. I’ve been introduced to the ritual of purity and deathshriek. There are some graphic scenes in the book which left me speechless. I presume this will be another dark novel for this week.

Vicious: I couldn’t help but compare this book to A Darker Shade of Magic because that was closer to this than The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue with the grim tone and blood and all. Writing-wise it was a bit similar to Addie, though. After finishing this book, I changed my mind that this wasn’t anything like ADSOM because this more dark and sinister than ADSOM. I was surprised with how everything turned out and can’t wait to read Vengeful next.

Lady Midnight: This series is slow. I don’t mind reading slow-paced books, but I get distracted on the way, but this one kept me engrossed anyway, especially at the end. I was so used to reading about their routine and how each character functioned. This family is tight-knit and loves each other fiercely, and I was so in love with Tavvy for contributing to the story as well.

Lord of Shadows: I missed the family dynamics in this book. You don’t see them cook or fight as siblings in this book, but they are all Shadowhunters here. I think there’s a lot to Kit than what’s been revealed so far because it’s hinted that he’s more than the Lost Herondale. It’s uncanny how these Herondales are all sarcastic and alike in their behavior. I don’t know if James might be sarcastic or not, but I’ll get to that once I start the TLH series. I was holding my breath in the last two chapters. I was waiting for the shoe to drop in because Annabel was so cooperative. It made everything seem so normal and suspicious. Something did happen at the end, which was completely different from what I expected. For a change, the Clave proved to be more cruel and evil than any demons and Downworlders in the book.

➼ I’m gonna start Chain of Gold next. I won’t be reading Chain of Iron after that because I’m saving it for June. For now, it’ll be a pause and I’ll return to it later.

➼ I want to finish the Bone Witch Trilogy next, but I don’t think I have the time for it in May, so I’ll start this series and see whether to go on with it or not.

What are you guys reading for this week? Let me know in the comments.
