Hey guys, it’s WWW Wednesday time! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and now hosted by Sam @Taking on a World of Words. Basically, I have to answer 3 questions with 3W’s : What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? and then link this post to the host.

The Poet X : I’m listening to this book on Scribd. I’ve tried listening to audiobooks before, but I never could follow it till the end. This time I’m aiming to listen this book fully. I’m really loving the narration. It’s done by Acevedo herself and it adds so much flavor to the story. Since this a book full of slam poetry, it’s nice to hear about it than reading it.

The Bone Witch : There’s a lot of info-dumping in the first few chapters. I wish there were some explanations done. But story-wise, it’s intriguing. I like the concept of heartsglass. It’s part of the magic system here. I also want to know who and what role the bard is going to play in the book.

Kindred: After reading three graphic novels last week, I didn’t want to read a fanatsy book or anything lengthy. I picked Kindred last sunday on a whim and wanted to read it instead of a 1000 pages book. Kindred captured the trauma of the blacks in 1800’s too vividly. There was so much graphic violence which were more pronunced in the illustrations. There’s a lot of triggers in this book, so read them before you dive into the book.

I’m planning to review this book along with the other graphic novels I’ve finished, so you can expect it anytime this month.

A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow: This book was a torture for me. I had to read about so many yummy pastries and delicacies which made my stomach growl with hunger. These days I find myself gravitating towards books that speak more about the journey of person which includes making mistakes, learning from past, etc., than just a normal story. This one had a well developed plot with a strong main character, whose story I loved reading about.

I had paused reading The Gilded ones and Queen of Air and Darkness. I just didn’t feel like reading any fanatsy in general, so I was reading something contemporary instead of continuing with these books.I’ll try to finish QoAaD by this weekend and see if I could finish The gilded ones as well. I’m also starting Shadow of the gods after The Bone Witch.

What are you guys reading for this week? Let me know in the comments.
