Happy New Year every one!!
This post was supposed to go live last year, but just like many other posts that didn’t get published, this was sitting on my drafts for a while.
I thought this was the best way to start the new year. My biggest regret last year was not working on this blog. I was merely present and hadn’t interacted with other creators. I hope to change that this year.
I couldn’t write a wrap-up post for 2022 but if you are still curious to know my top 22 books of 2022, you can check them here.
Here’s a list of very atmospheric and cosy titles that will warm you up this cold new year. If you have more to add to this list, please let me know in the comments.

1. Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree

What a better way to spend our time than reading a cosy fantasy with orcs and succubus serving us coffee, latte, and yummy goodies that makes us want to open café of our own?! There’s something about building one’s dreams from scratch and building relationships that will make you root for the characters in this book. Viv’s story is a special treat to all coffee lovers out there.
2. The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna

I still can’t believe this book exists. When I started this book, I was bored. Yeah, you heard me right. I was this close to adding it to my DNF pile and move on from it. But the plot surprised me with its homely setting and heartwarming tale that made me want to curl up near the non-existent fireplace (in my home). If you haven’t read this, now’s the time to add it to your TBR.
3. An Arrow to the Moon by Emily X R Pan

As one of my favourite reads last year, this book left me wanting more. Set in the ’90s, this retelling of the Chinese moon goddess mythology with a Romeo and Juliet twist is perfect for any time of the year. If you are short of books to read this winter, you should definitely pick this up.
4. The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy

Despite dealing with heavy topics such as death and afterlife, this book has many elements that will make you feel at home. It will remind you to live a little and work for what matters the most in life.
5. Sofi and the Bone Song by Adrienne Tooley

If an artist touring on foot is something new to you, there’s more to this musical fantasy that will keep you on your toes. With a touch of forbidden magic and music to warm one’s heart, this book is a lyrical delight. If you were looking for some backlist books for your 2023 TBR, this would make a solid candidate.

Let’s Chat:
Have you read any of this book? What are your cosy reads of 2022?
